Collection: Summer Camp Held at Rollins College (Winter Park)

This camp blends physical activity and technology to teach foundational coding skills. Campers will use Unruly Splats to merge coding with movement, fostering creativity and computational thinking. Scratch introduces them to game design, helping them build interactive stories they can share with others. Weekly themes inspire fresh challenges, while teamwork builds resilience and collaboration. MakerSpace Creations introduces campers to design thinking and engineering principles through hands-on projects. From crafting innovative machines to building LEGO structures, campers explore STEM concepts while solving creative challenges. Collaboration fosters critical thinking and teamwork, and weekly themes keep learning exciting and fresh. By week’s end, they’ll be confident creators ready to take on future challenges.

In this camp, students dive into robotics engineering with the Dash Robot. The adventure starts with a narrative-based challenge and building an environment for their Dash robot to navigate. Students will then move to programming Wonder robots to achieve various objectives and solve challenges. Throughout the camp, students will tackle narrative-based challenges, sharpening their critical thinking and problem-solving skills while building confidence and enhancing technological proficiency.

Throughout this course, students will sharpen their skills in constructing Minecraft worlds and coding within the MakeCode platform, mastering the art of programming dynamic elements, crafting intricate buildings, and altering gaming landscapes.
